When I visited my daughter a week ago, I installed a magicjack on her laptop running Vista, and on a wifi connection. Her service is with ComCast (Seattle area).
Tested it out, and it was working fine.
A couple of days later (after I left) she get's the "please connect to the internet" error message. She has a good wifi connection. I don't recall if she got the "upgrade" while I was there, or after I left.
Unfortunately, she is located 1500 miles away, and I have tried going thru a re-install and several of the "fixes" that I have found on the web with her over the phone. We've even disabled the firewall on her computer, unintstalled MagicJack, and reinstalled it. She is looged in as "administrator". Nothing has worked. I'm having her check to see if her hubby messed with the firewall settings on the wifi router and if she is plugging into an unpowered usb port on the laptop.
Anything else I can try to diagnose the problem....like plug the laptop directly into the router, or the modem??? Maybe use the MagicJack without the dongle??? She said her husband also couldnt get it to work on his computer running W7 (I never tested it on his machine). He got the same message.
Unfortunately it's a bit difficult since neither of them are very computer savvy!!!
