I have a Vonage box from my time of Vonage, I just ordered Magicjack. My question is can I reconfigure my Vonage box to work in-place of my magicjack??? Any info on this will greatly be appreciated.
I know this is my first post but, I have been creeping doing a lot of reading. Thanks for all the insight.

Re: MagiJack on VonageBox?????
Nope, as it stands on its own the MJ dongle needs an OS for it to work..bigredishott wrote:I have a Vonage box from my time of Vonage, I just ordered Magicjack. My question is can I reconfigure my Vonage box to work in-place of my magicjack??? Any info on this will greatly be appreciated.

There are a "few" posts here about ATA and MJ. Might be worth your while to check them out.

If the 4th generation MJ's (if you have one) are as good as others have described then you may just want to run MJ on it's own machine with magicfeatures and have a great phone line for a fraction of the cost of what Vonage costs monthly. The problem with trying to use a Vonage ata with another service is that they are locked to using Vonage only. They can be unlocked but if you don't know what your doing then you have a brick on your hands. My suggestion is the same as Joe's look in the hack's section and you can find what you need to get MJ with an ata up and running. Using MJ with an ata is possible but if you have never configured your own device before I would recommend trying a softphone like xlite first on your computer to get used to setting this up. Also look on www.magicjackhacks.net as there is a great tutorial for using MJ with xlite. Good luck and keep us updated.
