Invalid Area Code

Post by TechnoJock »

MagicJack gave me a phone number with area code of 010. I live in FL - this is not valid. I contacted customer no-support and they said I could change the number for $10 - for their mistake?

Wondering if I can exchange the unit (CompUSA) get a new one and try try again??

Any help would be most appreciated.

Area codes do not start with 0 or 1.
Try them again. It is extremely unlikely that you would get the same "support" person on the second try.

If MJ support continues to give you the run around, then go ahead and return it to the store. I assume you are still withing their return policy window, since you're just now registering it.

This is important:

Return the unit as "defective." This will ensure they don't throw it back on the shelf and sell it to some unsuspectiong soul. Since the MJ doesn't work properly with a corrupt area code, you are being truthful.

-One shot TK6000
-One shot NetTalk Duo
-Two shots Ooma (it's bigger)
