MJ won't pick up all the digits entered from my phone?
I have been on 20+ different chats with all the top 10% agents that just keep repeating the same things over and over with no help.
The problem is most of the time when I dial a call MJ will only show the 1st number dialed in the "Stock call Symbol" window but shows all the digits in the "Ready to Call" window. If I end the call and use redial on my cordless phone the call will go through everytime.Sometimes I can make 1 or 2 calls normally without problem but then it does the same thing again about not getting all the numbers dialed.
I have tried another cordless phone and a second computer and neither work any better so it is something with MJ itself or the software I think.
I am using Vista on both computers.

Make sure you are not using the short extension cord which came with your MJ and try to use a REAR usb port on your PC. The port does make a difference and the short cable can and does cause all kinds of weird problems.blodgee wrote:I have been on 20+ different chats with all the top 10% agents that just keep repeating the same things over and over with no help.

Just the first thing that comes to mind...

Just tried it without the short cord but exactly the same problem.I was already using a rear USB port.

ok........
Have you run the MJ removal tool from their web page and then d/l the update? MAYBE something got glitched.
Most importantly WHEN did you get your MJ?? Did it ever work? If so when did it stop and after what? Meaning was there some sort of update involved and then it stopped working?
You could just have a bad dongle, ok a bad MJ dongle
Especially since you said the same thing happend on another PC since it followed the dongle.
If it is a new unit you can always exchange it for another and see what happens.
OR you can try sending an email to [email protected]. SOMETIMES you get better support that way. You may want to just copy paste what your orig post was here and email it to "dan"
Also you might need a POWERED usb hub for your MJ as it has helped others.
BUT to me it sounds like you got a bad one...

I have had my MJ for less than a year. When I first got it I thought it worked great so within the first week I took their offer for 5yrs.Shortly thereafter it started acting up.I asked an agent about having a bad MJ.They said I would have to pay the shipping to try another one.Haven't taken that offer yet.

I had the same problem with my MJ right after I first started using it. It indeed sounds like your MJ may be defective. The only other thing I can suggest other than a powered usb hub as already suggested is to turn off any services you do not need running and give MJ a little more room to play with on your machine. I added extra ram and eliminated services I did not need running and my MJ worked much better after that. Good Luck and keep us updated.
Forgive my computer ignorance but what is a "powered hub"?bitstopjoe wrote:Other than buying a new one to see if it fixes your problem ( and then returning it) or taking advantage of getting a replacement from MJ and contacting them prior to plugging it in so they can transfer your #, there isnt much more I can suggest other than the powered hub...
My MJ lights up when plugged into the usb port now.

A powered USB hub, is just that, a hub that has an external power source. Most hubs do not have an external power source and only use what power is provided by the PC to the USB. When one has many usb devices or a usb device that needs a lot of usb power one needs a powered hub to give it that extra power it needs as opposed to sharing and splitting the power it gets from thge PC alone..blodgee wrote:Forgive my computer ignorance but what is a "powered hub"?bitstopjoe wrote:Other than buying a new one to see if it fixes your problem ( and then returning it) or taking advantage of getting a replacement from MJ and contacting them prior to plugging it in so they can transfer your #, there isnt much more I can suggest other than the powered hub...

Ok I'll have to see how much that will cost all in order to make the Magic Jack product work.Sure wish they had mentioned all this in their sales pitch!
