If you take the time to do a search all will be answered. Not good answers but answers none the less.

Get a NetTalk Duo. Their website is http://www.nettalk.com You do not have to plug it in to a computer in order for it to work.

as of now, there is no solution....
please keep an eye on this tread, as we are working on a solution to bypass (if possible) the rotating password game.

In your efforts, you will also want to keep an eye on the list of codecs as it has also recently been updated to include some new ones not available on many ATAs.

Examples would be Speex codec variations and use of the G.711.1 wideband codec at 16000 samples per second (rather than the typical G.711 codec at 8000 samples per second).

If you want to use an ATA, use it with a provider that supports BYOD "Bring Your Own Device". MJ is not one of those providers and based on their actions apparently do not intend to be one at least anytime soon. One similar option to MJ would be to use your ATA with a free Whistlephone account (and possibly a Google Voice number in addition) as others have suggested.

You can also use your MJ dongle with a free Whistephone account (and possibly a Google Voice number in addition) using the XlitejackPlugin. An active MJ subscription is not required. Basically, you have the option to get completely free phone service using your existing MJ USB dongle even if your MJ subscription has expired and kiss them goodbye.

Not officially but they do appear to exclusively use the G.711 codec so you have a better chance than you do using MJ. The reliability will still be a bit hit and miss depending on the quality of the end to end Internet connection.

If you need more reliable fax service you should try CallCentric or NetTalk as they officially support faxing via the T.38 VoIP Fax protocol. That is really your better option if you need a more reliable solution.
