how to update magicjack from august 2007

Post by johnlvs2run »

My magicjack is from August, 2007. I used it for 1 year and then switched back to Linux.
Verizon keeps screwing me so I'm finally going to get a thin client for the magicjack.

Do I need to upgrade the magicjack? If so, what is the best way to do this?

If your account is still active just plug it into a rear USB port ( sans extension cord) and it will update itself.
IF your account is no longer active I suggest you go online with MJ support and have them walk you through you restarting your account first.

Thank you.
My subscription expired in August 2009.

I'm using Linux Sabayon, so the magicjack doesn't work on my computer, though I've heard it's supposed to work with Linux quite soon.
So far I've been waiting for 2 years. In the meantime I'm going to get a thin client and use it with that.

They have a subscription number for me on the site, the phone number is gone, and there's a box for me to "reactivate expired."
I'd like to sign up for the 5 year plan, which states "can only be applied to registered magicjacks."

Since they still have me on the site, does that mean my magicjack is registered?
