Many area codes are not working
My MJ is so good when it works. Almost as good as a land line. But about 2 weeks ago I noticed some area codes do not work. BC and Ontario especially. I talked to MJ "support" and they said they were aware of a problem and that they were working on it. But that could mean anything. I've got 2 MJ's that I want to convert to Canadian numbers but what's the point? If I can't call people there is no point.

Yeah it could be bigger. In fact I had mentioned to the moderator to have "PLEASE DO A SEARCH FIRST BEFORE POSTING" at the top of the forum.gashliquor wrote:bitstopjoe wrote:Always a good idea to do a search FIRST prior to posting..

BTW:
Wow that is mighty depressing. Looks like MJ is too good to be true. This is really bad. I did reinstall it and found several numbers that didn't go through before now go through.
Also several numbers that call forwarding didn't work on now work. Not sure if the call forwarding works completely yet.
But I just made some calls and it seems to disconnect after a few minutes.

This might fix your problem
1.) Create a google voice account
2.) Enter (register) your magicjack number into your google voice account.
3.) At https://www.google.com/voice/#inbox Enter the Canadian number to call into upper left hand box in the "Place a call" menu.
4.) Your magicjack phone should ring so answer it. You should hear it ringing on the other end to the Canadian number.
Magic Jack should only see the U.S. google voice number and as it is also an incoming call so all should be well. Reply if it works. Thanks.
It has been brought to my attention that you will need a U.S. IP address to create a Google Voice account. Use http://download.cnet.com/hotspot-shield/ or http://openvpn.net/ to possibly get a US ip address. With openvpn.net you may need to disconnect and reconnect until a US IP address pops up.
