Using MJ Remotely

Post by Eldorado »

I was wondering if it was possible to set up the magicjack at home and use it remotely.

More detailed, I'd like to have my magicjack running on my HTPC, which is a low-power machine, always on and connected to the internet.. and I'd like to be able to set up a pbx and use that magicjack port to the PSTN remotely.

Desired result? Use a SIP client on my cell phone to connect over 3g data to make calls using my magicjack.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks!

Yes - keep it simple. Check out Whistlephone.com and just point your cellphone's SIP client directly to their network for free US calling.

Also may want to try the free client offered by nettalk.com/smartphone
