Give Your SIMPLE Evaluation of mJ Alternatives
Please give the price you paid and the quality of the product you got without technical language and if you had to add other items not sold with the product to achieve that quality. Respectfully, I have read the technical threads and don't know half of what is being said.

^Thanks. I mentioned you on another board about Duo but got your handle wrong and then had to correct myself once I found one of your threads. I searched there for simply Connie and got a result and wondered if that's how you started.
_ _ _ _I agree about faxing, and the other thing I want is *67. Three-way calling would be a plus. I'm not warm to paying a load in advance. This will supplement mJ, not replace it. I haven't been to their board if they have one. Reportedly, it has complaints.
_ _ _ _Anyone else?

^Thanks again. Unfortunately, NetTalk does not have *67 (caller id block), so it's useless to me. In fact, luv2uallday posted a thread on Aug. 15 that they should get it, with a poll that overwhelmingly favors it (on that board). Their tech support confirms they still don't have it. Ooma is probably too much money so I'm stuck. Someone in that thread mentioned something like voipVoip as having it, if anyone can elaborate. Also, I don't know anything about Google Voice if that would help.

Everyone, I forgot about Vonage. They are very forgettable because they hounded me with calls after I almost signed up. Vonage Lite is 9.99 a month for 200 minutes and $.05 a minute if you exceed. No charge for incoming calls. I would reserve those 200 for calls where I need to block my number and for three-way calls. I would like to make a decision by Monday so let me know if you have any other suggestions. I really want to settle on something that results from all current choices. Note: luv2uallday's thread was in NetTalk's Feedback forum.
gashliquor, I enjoyed the photos you've posted and wonder where you got your avatar. The codes you provided are interesting, but they cannot substitute for *67. You are who informed me that Ooma would be too expensive. NTD with a present discount averages to $6 a month for the first year, less than Vonage.

The avatar i took from a naughty cartoon and cropped it to size using Adobe Photoshop, What i understand NT is still no where done with there system so more features im sure will come sooner or L8r. As far as Ooma is concerned im a 100% Telo fan. If there Hub which is cheaper would do u any good i don't know because i never had one but there are a few here that do

Look at voipo http://www.voipo.com/residential.shtml if your interested in an already configured ata so you don't have to mess with anything. Personally I would stay away from Vonage as $9.99 for 200 minutes is a ripoff.

Darkman90808, did you get to read my post last night to you at 9;52pm before the hacking? It was about GV and faxing mostly. I read yours from 9;23pm and replied quickly for once. I find the loss of five posts quite annoying. I mean to look at GV next.
sabresfan, in that same post 9:52pm, I answered you and would've accessed your second link but for the hacking before I returned. Today I checked reviews of Power Phone at dslreports.com (there are 129 of them, 14 bad). A number of the most recent are bad, and it's hard for someone like me to assess. Note that I don't have a router and don't plan to use one. Did you see my post by some miracle? If anyone has the missing posts on their computer, please offer them as part of your message. Why did you recommend Phone Power? I believe some general reading will help me decide. Do you visit that dsl site?

Phone power is a reliable voip company along with Voipo. I recommend them to people as well as others over at the dsl forums. They have many features, are cheaper than Vonage and very reliable. They have people who work for them visit the voip forum at dslreports and do the best they can from what I have seen to help their customers out. Hope this helps.Bartholomew Diogenes wrote:Darkman90808, did you get to read my post last night to you at 9;52pm before the hacking? It was about GV and faxing mostly. Hmmm... don't think so. For now, faxing is a little problematic for me. I say a little because I try to send what I can via email. As an emergency measure this week, I sent a 33 page business fax via Skype/Pamfax. I do not recommend this but I was up against the wall.Darkman90808, did you get to read my post last night to you at 9;52pm before the hacking? It was about GV and faxing mostly. So far my tests with ooma have been unsuccessful. Sipgate and Magic Jack have been inconsistent, so I can't trust them for business.
Haven't tried to do anything with faxing and Google Voice. Perhaps with Sipsorcery? Sabersfan, what say you?
All GV and sipsorcery do is work with the providers we already have. Adding them in will not increase the ability to fax. Best bet for reliable faxing and voip if one has problems is to use an inexpensive fax service.Darkman90808 wrote:Hmmm... don't think so. For now, faxing is a little problematic for me. I had a very good fax set up with Voxox until recent, about 2 weeks ago, The fax is free and will send pdf, word, and jpeg. I was sending out about 10 faxes a week for awhile, now for some reason their going nowhere, The feature is part of their service and when I sent a trouble ticket to them I was told that they are in Beta and that the feature would be addressed. Man, I miss that little jewel.. Voxox will be a great value when they fix a few issues. I was impressed. and will be again when they fix the fax..
