Magicjack stops working after reboot

Post by jones6951 »

I am running magicjack on Windows Home Server.

I have it configured as a service to start automatically on startup which was working fine.

However, more recently, following a reboot, the magicjack device does not get recognized by windows, and I have to physically unplug / plug the USB device in order for it work. Once I do this, the CD Drive and Removable Drive of the USB thing become visible in windows and everything works (until the next reboot).

Any thoughts on why this happens? Is it a magicjack issue or is it related to a windows problem, and how can I fix it?

Thanks

I don't know much about servers and what OS your running and or other software.

After a reboot and MJ doesn't run try this.

Goto Crtl panel, then system icon the "Tab" hardware then device mgr.

Do you see any problems showing up in you list?

At the top click on the listing in that window, then goto the Action and click on scan or hardware changes and see if it finds MJ usb drive.

In device mgr. goto your usb make sure your usb root hub is not set to power mgr. if it's check to "save prw. uncheck it.

The only other thing I could say is do a search in these forms.
I don't think it's a MJ or Windoze problem, I feel it something to do with running on a home server for what ever reason.

They say recommend running on XP, min. 1gig 512ram, vista and 7 has some issues.

Like I said don't know much about servers.
