error 404
Used the phone a few hours ago and went to make another call. No dial tone. Checked the MJ screen - error 404. WTF? Right out of the blue. MJ must be having server problems. I don't know which proxy server I use. I'm in the Madison, WI area. Any one else having issues?
Wow, funny you should mention this. Thought I was going crazy. Mine is doing it too. I'm in the Chicagoland area and just started receiving this [Error 404] problem a couple hours ago too. Been rebooting/restarting everything seeing if it would go away.
I'm online with MJ tech support chatting right now. Have had me on 'please wait...' for about 5 minutes now. I'll post if they say anything intelligent.

Update: While on a chat with them, they said they 'reset my connection' on their end and had me restart the mj service. Upon restart, my phone worked again. Weird, but it's working. And here I've wasted the last hour trying to figure out what was wrong on my end. Oh well, it's working now.
You may want to try it too. Good luck!

My parents and I both have magicjacks, with milwaukee area phone numbers.
both of them have the problem, they fixed it on my parents (I supported theirs and opened up support chat did via logmein), now moving onto mine.

Error 404 in Iowa
I live in Southeast Iowa, and saw the 404 error late this afternoon. Rebooting/reloading the software didn't help. Internet was working, as I could use browser. Chat support told me to run an upgrade. But when I went to run it, I saw that the connection had been "magically" fixed.
'We had to refresh your account information'
I live in Aurora (IL). Have 2 magicjacks (separate accounts) and 2 ISPs (AT&T, Comcast) Same problem on both accounts, regardless of the ISP used.
I chatted with an MJ rep, gave them my first phone #, and it worked after he had be unplug/replug.
Then he asked me to do the same thing on my other MJ, but it started working without unplugging or restarting it.
When I asked him what they messed up over there, considering many MJ users have been hit by this problem today. He gave me the same canned response of 'we had to refresh your account information' and abruptly ended the session.
Way to keep the customer in the dark. Probably a colossal f***up that they don't want to admit to so now they are having to reset folks as they contact them for help.
