MagicJack still not loading on startup after setup.exe moved

Post by culeboards »

I have followed the instructions and moved the Setup.exe file to the startup folder, yet Magic Jack still does not startup on its own after a re-boot.
Any solutions?
Most grateful,
Doug

Hi culeboards
The instructions say to Copy Setup.exe to the Startup Folder.

Correct. In fact I did Copy the file.
I wonder if there is perhaps another place where startup attributes are checked on or off?

#1 you never said what OS your using or 32 or 64 bit

#2 COPY to startup folder means leave the exe where it is and COPY the exe ALSO to the startup folder also.

#3 Usually that folder is hidden and if i was you depending on your OS i would do the following.

Click the Windows GLOBE, Then click computer then click ORGANIZE then
CLICK " Folder & Search Options" then click VIEW then go down the list and put a CHECK in " Show Hidden Files and Folders" AND take out the check mark in " Hide Protected Operating system files ( Recommened ), Now look in your startup folder is it there?. If so put back both check marks the way they were.

BTW: Windows has a Startup Manager USE it, It helps, Type Startup in your search bar

Begin by first clicking on the Start Button.

Then click on the Control Panel icon located in the right column of the Start Menu.

Now click on the Taskbar and Start Menu icon to display its Properties Window.

If your Start Menu is set to the Classic View, then begin by clicking on the Start Button.

Then click on Settings, then click on the Taskbar and Start Menu icon to display its Properties.

Now, click on the Start Menu Tab at the top of the screen.

Then Click on Customize button at the bottom right side of the screen.

Now Click on the Advanced button on the right hand side of the screen.

Windows XP will take you to the C:\Windows\Start Menu folder through Windows Explorer.

Now use your mouse to highlight any unwanted program shortcuts such as registration reminders.

Then press the delete key on your keyboard to remove them from the Start Up folder.

Continue to highlight and delete until you have satisfactorily removed all unwanted programs.

Then close the Windows Explorer Window and all open Taskbar Properties Windows.

And Reboot your Computer to initiate your changes.

NOTE!!!!!!........YOU do NOT put the SETUP.EXE in YOUR Startup folder either!!!!!.....Your PUTTING the WRONG file in the FOLDER, Try putting MagicJack.exe in that folder or it maybe named magicJackLoader.exe !...It works wonders :!:
