Still saying "Number porting will be available first week of August 2010.
There will be a nominal fee for number porting."
Considering a year of service is $20, I don't see how they could charge any more than that for # porting.YipMan_Style wrote:Any guess as to how much this fee would be? Meaning how much do other companies charge for something like that?
My past experience was always free. So I have no idea.
The reason I'm asking is because now I still paying to keep my number alive for porting. If the cost is unreasonable (which I won't do then), I might was well end it now.
I wouldn't port a number to MJ that I wanted to keep for the rest of my life. Remember that one day you may need to port this number out and it would be nice to actually be able to talk to a real person on the phone instead of the script reading associates at MJ. The "Gotcha" is you may never be able to port your number out without going through hoops to make it happen.human wrote:Any ideas on whether a brand new MJ would be better to hook up for the 1st time, before, or after, said promised, "Number porting will be available first week of August 2010", goes into effect? Are there generally promotional offerrings, or any other advantageous caveats when "Coming Soon" has been heard before? Any Gotchas? I've been sitting on this MJ for so long it's starting to complain of the heat, smell, and sound of "Coming Soon!" Maybe it's just Me running on past Coming Sooner, nor later sentences?
Think about it. How does MJ/YMAX benefit from offering LNP??GuyOnTheAir wrote:I've been waiting by my corner email box for days now, and am without food or water. I'm so excited. It's almost like camping outside of the Apple store waiting for the iPhone 5.
Does any of that really matter. Stop your wishful thinking...There is absolutely no benefit for MJ to implement thisYipMan_Style wrote:Can someone tell me a bit of history about the promisses of porting number?
I recall back then, it's always coming soon. Coming soon could just be planning or just thinking about something they will do when they get to it.
Then there is a date Aug 10. So with a date, that mean MORE than coming soon. There is a target. A lot work has to have happen to estimate a target. Don't you think?
Did MJ offered a date and fail to deliver in the past?
Respectfully, I would think the title of thread says it all.Any updates on number porting?
