Brief delay when a call connects

I started having this problem recently and it is very frustrating. Any time I call someone, as soon as they answer the phone I get about a 2 second sound drop. Which means I usually miss the first few words they say. Has anyone else had this problem? Running Windows 7 with a headset mic for a couple years and haven't had this problem.

Yes I have on inbound calls only. I wait to say hello for 2 seconds. Never really considered it an issue.
