Hi! My aunt has a magicjack and she's had it for about a year now. It worked perfectly last week when she plugged it to her son's computer, but when she tried it on mine, I always get the message: Please connect to the Internet and double click here. Obviously I was connected to the Internet when I plugged it, so I double-clicked the link. But when I did, a box appears, saying:
Verify your login
Your magicJack has already been registered.
Please enter your e-mail address and password to verify your existing
account.
(followed by a form asking our magicJack name, email and password.)
This has stumped us, because we never experienced this before. My aunt has been using the magicJack without doing this. She informed me that she had not given her email add ever. She said that she unplugged and replugged the unit, then the message goes away and she'll be able to use it. I tried that to no avail. So I searched the Net for troubleshooting. I tried to register the magicJack but there seems to be no link. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I plugged it to different USB ports. I downloaded an upgrade. I used magicJack's advice and checked my Firewall and added magicJack as an exception.
But it. Still. Doesn't. Work.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for anyone who would respond to my (our) plight.
Please connect to the Internet...verifying login?

First thing, I haven't heard anything about unpluging it then pluging it back in and the message goes away.tmesis wrote: Your magicJack has already been registered.
You somehow have to get it registered, It needs an email address, you have to create an account with MJ. your mailing address for 911 location and you can let MJ give you a number by area code/prefix and a list of the last 4 digits. or pick your own number.
How did she get a MJ phone number? for people to call her.
When she had it on her computer did she see her address in the 911
box?
Regards,
John

Just yesterday I received the same message. Once I entered in the email and password it loaded up just fine.
The MagicTalk message is another story. When I get that the only way to get back into MagicJack, for me, has been to pull out and reinsert the device and then click on my desktop icon.
It is a finicky product, so the occasional message/login problem is not out of the ordinary.

Same issue here. Not used MJ for a while (hate the mandatory window). On the screen that says:
Verify your login
Your magicJack has already been registered
Please enter your e-mail address and password
to verify the your existing account.
I have the login and pw, but wonder about the magicJack Name - there is a code in the box and there is an edit button. Not clear what this is or if I can change to something user friendly. .... not sure if I should try to change - doing research on what the "Name" means.
I've had MJ for several years, but rarely use because of lack of 3 way calling. Sure wish 3 way calling was available, then I'd consider dropping my landline.
= = = = =
OK, this is starting to tick my off. I decided to not risk changing the "Name" .... comes back in red and message device on file, hmm... let me login.... maybe OK now - but confusing.

Thank you for the reply. I wasn't sure how to do it, but I was aware that 2 people can call me. Perhaps useful in some cases, but not the normal need.
As you indicated the power of 3 way calling is to be talking to one person and when we realize that another person needs to be on the call, we pick them up, right then.
I really don't know how 3 friends ever manage to make lunch plans without 3 way calling. I use it many times every day. If it was possible, I might even pay for 2 Magic Jacks to get 3 way calling.
Thanks - maybe someday?
