USB device not recognized

Lately, MJ doesn't start when the computer starts. If I unplug it and plug it and plug it back in, the blue light goes on for a few seconds, turns off, and a popup says "Device not recognized", or it goes to Magic Talk. I still get voice mail messages via email, so the registration and phone number are working, but I can't make or receive calls. What's up?

I would try your MJ dongle in another PC to see if the problem follows. If yes then there is a good chance your MJ dongle has gone bad..
If you are using the short extension cable which came with the MJ, dont as it can and does cause some weird crap to happen and if using a desktop be sure to use a rear USB port.
If indeed your MJ dongle went bad, I would contact MJ online chat and see what they can do. Just note IF you get a replacement, either by MJ or on your own, do not plug in the replacement until you contact MJ online chat.
