Getting o108 error

Post by cfalzone »

I bought a new phone to use with MJ. It is an RCA ViSYS 25255RE2-A

When I try to place the first call after connecting it to my MJ Device I hear a message saying something about the phone being plugged into the network jack not the phone jack. It says the code or message is o108.

I can make a call, the other person can hear me , I can hear them, but we both have this operator repeating this message over and over.

When I hang up and try to call again, I get a busy signal as soon as I pick up the phone.

Any ideas? I should mention that MJ works fine with my previous phone. I just thought it would be nice to put both my 2 lines (Vonage on line 1 for work, MJ on line 2 for personal) on one phone system instead of two like I have now.

I don't think that message is coming from an operator at mJ or any other provider. I think that message is coming from you phone.

Are you using the short extension cable that came with your mJ? If so try it without it.

Are you plugged into a front or rear USB port on your computer? If it is in the front try a rear port.

You might also want to try using a powered USB hub with your mJ to see if that might help.

If these don't alleviate the problem, then there may be an incompatibility with your RCA phone and mJ.
