After a lengthy chat with Magic Jack support I still could not resolve my 401 error when launching magic jack on my Win 7 pc. I even did a complete fresh install because Magic Jack worked fine when plugged into my Macbook Pro on the same network. Here's what fixed it instantly:
Go into Device Manager in the Control Panel and look for your Network Device. If it's a Realtec PCIe GBE Family Controller you need to right click on it, select "properties" then "driver" and Roll Back the driver version. After this Magic Jack instantly worked fine.
The version I get after rolling back is : 7.2.1127.2008

Interesting fix. Not sure I recall seeing it suggested before. I have version 7.17.304.2010. I assume mine is an older version based on the 7.17 vs 7.2 and not the 2010 vs 2008. In any event, mine is working fine, so I will make sure not to update that driver anytime soon.
