Well, here we are in Mid July and no sign yet of the MJ Plus
Nothing on any of the MagicJack/YMax/VocalTec websites. Retailers haven't heard a thing about it (I've asked several)
Other than a couple print reviews and a YouTube video, you would never know this thing was allegedly about to be rolled out.
What I *AM* seeing on TV several times a day are NetTalk commercials. So apparently THEY believe the MJPlus is real, and are at least stepping up to compete.
What are you waiting for Danny boy? The Xmas rush??

One of the reviews posted in here, I believe, quoted someone at MJ that it would be made available to current MJ users first. If that's correct, and anything with MJ is a BIG if, we should either see it on the "mymagicjack" purchase options or something via an email before it shows up in retail. But it's obviously all a big open question, which is getting borderline ridiculous at this point.nostrodamus wrote:Nothing on any of the MagicJack/YMax/VocalTec websites. I've been wanting to write something sarcastic for a couple days now....been biting my typing fingers 'til now.
Hey DAN! Reach deep into your Rectalonian Data Base ( ! ) and give us the next MJ+ Release Date!!!!
There...............I dun it.
However, even if it did become available today, I'd still wait a month or so until AFTER it's initial bugs get worked out. I mean, you KNOW there's gonna be some bugs for a while.....nature of the beast in all things electronic. May not even buy it then. My current setup continues to work fine, thanks to all the fine info on this forum.....and NO thanks to the MJ Chat Help line.

Utter nonsense, as usual.dtm wrote:From now on just call it the VaporJack.
It may be a piece of crap and not work like they are promising, but they will be releasing it, unlike other empty MJ promises. I highly doubt they have gone to all the trouble of making a new device, designed the packaging and sent it out to reviewers to shelve it at this point.

You're probably correct. But I can't help remembering last year's FemtoJack making it almost this far when it was quietly cancelled. Granted they never sent pre-release samples to reviewers. I seriously hope the MJ+ product makes it to release, mainly because this will keep MJ in the VoIP competition. As we ALL know, the consumer is always the biggest winner in a competitive market.nailgunner wrote:Utter nonsense, as usual.

I don't know enough about the technical aspects of this, but it seems like there is nothing about revamping the MJ into the Plus that would cause them to cancel the whole thing like they ended up having to with the femtocell product.V-Man wrote: But I can't help remembering last year's FemtoJack making it almost this far when it was quietly cancelled. Anything is always possible with MJ, but I don't think even Dan is foolish enough to let whoever, MJ or a re-seller, take pre-orders and then cancel the whole project. They even have instructions in their FAQ on how to set up and use the darn thing.
There are some people that would love to see MJ go under. If they screw up Plus, they will be as good as dead. I just think now that VocalTec is in the picture Dan probably has someone over his shoulder making sure he doesn't release it until it's 100% ready.
It would be a slow death because a lot of people( like myself) are ok with the current situation feeling htat thery are getting their bang for the buck.
But indeed, if MJ does not move ahead they will not be here around 2 years from now.
It is absolutely foolish what they are doing now. Unless they come up with the product pretty soon, nobody will take them seriously any more and that might be the beginning of the end.

The one good thing for MJ is that no one in the "normal" world knows anything at all about the Plus let alone all the missed deadlines. If they come out with a decent product, with their retail distribution already in place, they should be okay.cell14 wrote: It is absolutely foolish what they are doing now. On the second thought; you might be right, although these days more and more people go on line to check out things and the impact could be the biggest in the segment which is most likely to buy the product. It is certainly a boost for the competition.I just think that their tactics are not smart from a business point of view this time .The one good thing for MJ is that no one in the "normal" world knows anything at all about the Plus let alone all the missed deadlines. Well, I don't know about the Prez, but if I don't get one by then, I guess I'm going with the competition. Because that's the day my old MagicJack expires, and I'm not renewing something that's been collecting dust in a drawer for the last 6 months.Darkman90808 wrote:Maybe Obama will get one for his birthday (August 4th)! And don't ask me how I remember his birthday.now i found a website that say the magicjack plus will be here in Aug 2
