magic jack hear caller but they cant hear me

I am having some problems with my new magic jack. mostly it is that the call come in(phone rings) and I can't hear the other party, but they can hear me. sometimes it works but mostly it does not. it seemed to be better the first week, now about two weeks later it almost never works. tried different phones, different usb ports, eliminated the mini extension usb cable, and different phone number calling and receiving and reset modem. so that is all I know to try. Some good suggestions here would be appreciated as I cannot afford a land line right now. Thanks in advance.
