Femtocell is not a booster. Femtocell is a FCC part 15 device, just like a cordless landline phone or wireless computer network are. I suppose you could use a femtocell in conjunction with a booster amp and a couple antennas and make your own little cell tower to give free pirate cell service to your neighborhood if you wanted to (just like amplifying an iPod car transmitter to make a pirate FM station), but femtocell by itself and booster amps by themselves just work in your home only. I use a Wilson Electronics booster amp system in my home and it works great.

At the end, i think the big carriers will be the big loolsers, becouse MAGICK JACK, after all, can create their own FENTOCELL network, that provably will hurt them all,

so the big carriers instead of trying to ban MAGICJACK FENTOCELL
