I just got off a chat with tech support, explaining that I wanted to know if there was an upgrade. I wasn't sure that my question was really understood at times. However, I was given a link to and exe file that was simply called magicJackSetup.exe, which was about 12.3 MB. The tech told me, that my magicjack would now work if I plugged it into my router. (Yes maybe, but waht about the additional hardware?) The told me that it was just an ethernet cable, a usb extention cord, and a power supply. That may all be true, and I have all of that except the power supply. I asked about getting the parts and was told to just go to an electronics store. Sigh.
I could probably figure out how to hach this that way, but I just want the solution from magicjack. I am sure that a 110 to usb powersuplly is easy to come by as are the other parts the tech mentioned. That just leaves the problem of where you plug the ethernet cable it!!! LOL

mJ tech support is almost completely worthless. You can not make the original mJ work without a computer, period. You would have to purchase the new mJ+ device for that functionality, and before you do you might want to review some threads here about using the mJ+ standalone since some have reported choppy calls and breakups happening when using it sans a computer.Terry F wrote:I just got off a chat with tech support, explaining that I wanted to know if there was an upgrade.
