Can No Longer Use MJ On My W.7 Desktop

Post by mikek44 »

As of today I can no longer use MJ on my w.7 desktop.

When I booted up in the morning I received a message from MJ re: MJ Talk that said I had to plug my MJ device into a usb port to continue using my computer to talk.

This has happened frequently ever since MagicTalk was introduced. In each instance I deleted the MJ software and disconnected the device from the usb port. I then rebooted my computer and reattachesd the device to the same usb port I was using. No problems until today.

I used the above procedure again but got an error message in my system tray:

"USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message."

I clicked the message and got a box that said:
"USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED. The location of the device is shown in bold type...Unknown Device"

I double clicked Unknown Device and got a box that said:
"UNKNOWN DEVICE PROPERTIES. Under the General Tab it had 4 bits of information:
1. Device Type. Universal Serial Bus Controllers
2. Manufacturer. (Standard USB Host Controller
3. Location. Port_#0001.Hub_#0008
4. Device Status. Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43).

I tried unused ports and swapped with other ports being used...always getting the above results.

I loaded it to my XP laptop and everything worked just fine.

I have been using MJ since it came out and my current contract runs through Oct 2014.

This problem is very annoying and extremely inconvenient (I can't drag my laptop with me all the time).

Has anyone else reported this problem?.....is there a solution?
Thanks for your time,

Mike
