MJ+ not receiving INCOMING calls

Post by Integraoligist »

Hey all,
Just setup the MJ+ to my existing account this afternoon (as my regular MJ expired at 10:15 this morning).
It's setup and works perfectly on the PC, but when plugged into an outlet and into the router, I can PLACE calls, but NOT Recieve them. It says the # is not in service at this time.

I think I ported it correctly in my router, here is what I did:
Router: Trendnet TEW-652BRP
Access > Special AP > ENABLE - Enabled
Name: MJ+
Trigger: Protocol UPD Port Range 5060-5060
Incoming: Protocol TCP/UDP Port 5060

then again

Access > Special AP > ENABLE - Enabled
Name: MJ+
Trigger: Protocol UPD Port Range 5070-5070
Incoming: Protocol TCP/UDP Port 5070

Saved then reset the router... and still the same thing.

Ideas?
Thanks all!

I also forwarded:
Name: MJ+3
Trigger: Protocol UPD Port Range 46152-65534
Incoming: Protocol TCP/UDP Port 46152-65534

I then changed the Protocols to both TCP/UDP for all of them and still nothing is working.

Figured it out. Found this website:
http://portforward.com
Go there and enter your router then Magicjack app and it will show you exactly how to do it.

Because I have a Trendnet TEW-652BRP I did not use Port Forwarding (aka Special AP in this router) I had to use a Virtual Server with the IP MJ has in my system, reset the router and BOOM, working perfectly.

Glad you have your MJ+ working, you will probably help someone else with the same problem. :D

Router issues seem to be one of the big stumbling blocks in getting the PLUS unit to run in stand alone mode.

WOW like that web site you found !!

Thank you Integraoligist for your post about the postforward.com website. After accessing their site, I was able to quickly change my port settings as instructed, and I'm able to receive incoming calls now with my MagicJack which is attached directly to my router. Thanks again!
