Porting my existing phone number

I just bought the magic jack plus and went through the set-up to the point where it asks me to pick from the following:

Vanity #
Canadian #
Pick my US Area Code & Prefix & get assigned the last 4 digits
or I do not want a US or Canadian #

I want to port my existing Verizon phone # but that is not an option. How do I port my existing phone number? do I have to go through this menu first before I get asked to port my #? Please Help. Thanks.

Ya, seems as though it would be an option at that stage but you actually do it after your account is already setup using a number from their inventory. You wouldn't want to port an existing number until you know MJ+ is a keeper anyway, right?

Once you've got your account all setup, log into the account management site. There's a button to click that takes you down the path to porting your number, for a fee of course.
