Reception question....

Post by jwoodley »

I am interested in getting MagicJack, but I live out in the country and don't get a very good signal on my cellphone. We do have a land line, but I would like to use MagicJack instead. We are using a Cricket 3G card on our PC to get the internet. Is having a bad reception with my cellphone any indication that I probably won't get a very good reception if I use MagicJack? Thanks for the assistance Guys.

MagicJack needs good Internet to work properly, sounds bad for you in your current situation. :(

Before you buy MJ, run these two tests with your current set-up:

http://www.speedtest.net/
http://www.pingtest.net/

If your get good results, the odds are that MJ will work satisfactorily. If not, save your money.

From the information provided I would recommend you not even to try MJ.
You can try http://myspeed.visualware.com/indexvoip.php to test but in your case it is probably a waste of time.
