MagicJack Plus - 60 day promo for current subscribers?

Post by Paul777 »

This article suggests there is a promo for existing subscribers.

http://www.tmcnet.com/topics/articles/2 ... os-app.htm

4th paragraph ....

The magicJack plus is available on the company’s website today and can be had by new users for $69.95 per unit. One plus for loyal customers of magicJack is that they will be able to upgrade to the magicJack Plus for just half of that price if they buy within the next 60 days. That price includes the device as well as the first year of service.

So anyone know how to get this promo ? I tried contacting chat support but they say the price is $69.95 no matter what. When I tried another person they said keep watching the website.

Thought I would write this to put more eyes on it. Maybe there is already a known way to get this promo today ?

At this point I consider the discount for previous MJ customers as pure fiction.

I challenge Dan to prove me wrong.

Yes... I have some doubts too.... hence my posting.. want to flush this out quickly. I had my MJ hooked up to a thin client, but my thin client died. MJ Plus would be a great replacement especially at the discounted price. :)

As best as I can tell, it started with one of the original reviews way back that said current MJ users would get a discount. Then a recent one mentioned the 50% discount in the comment section, quoting a PR source from MJ. At this point everyone BUT magicJack seems to have mentioned it, unfortunately they are the only ones that count.

Well after having my second TC go down, I decided I'm not waiting for any promos. Ordered two MJ+ on their website. I'm in Canada so I expect it will be about 10 day delivery. I will report back if any major issues crop up. I still haven't received my confirmation email that was only suppose to take a couple hours. Maybe their processing dept was shut down. Hope I receive the email today.

Well... after ordering my MagicJack Plus (2 of them) at full price ($69.95) I think I have discovered where/how to get the discount !!!!!

Oh the frustration... anyway for the benefit of others.....

In the Magic Jack control panel where it shows the dial pad in the middle, advertising on the left, and contact or dialed number on the right, click on "MY" link just above the red "END" button.

It will take you to your magicjack account. First offer is for $39.95 !!

Let me know if this actually works! If it does then let's pass it on before the offer disappears.

You can also get there by opening up the soft-phone menu and clicking on "advanced users" and then "my magicjack".

Unfortunately that is the same offer that has been there forever. It's not for the "Plus". It is for the regular MJ + free rush shipping and handling on the regular MJ. An unfortunate, but not surprising, use of the symbol with the same name as their new product by MJ.

Ah.... some what deceptive... it says MagicJack+ free shipping and handling ! Meaning a regular MagicJack WITH free shipping and handling.

That is confusing.. or misleading.. or maybe they just don`t realize the possibility of reading the wrong way. oh well.. at least the post clears this one up !

I think the offer has been there like that for at least a year, so I don't think it's intentional, just not a very thorough company.

I had never clicked on that "my" button before for some reason, so it was a useful post for me. 8)

I just spoke to an actual person, who said there is no discount @ this time for the MJP, reguardless of whether you're a MJ customer or not. Your MJ plan would not roll over either,. The best bet , for your money, would be to use your existing days on MJ, before purchasing MJP, in my opinion. Although MJP, is offering a 30day free trial, in which they bill your CC at the end of 30 days, which will allow 365 days + 30 days, of use on MJP, and - the 5-10 day wait on it to arrive.

Also the later you buy one the better the chance is of the inevitable kinks in a new product being taken care of.

Half Price Coming Soon

Post by kleeb »

I woke up to my already-on radio playing a computer call-in show with guest Dan. A caller asked if mJ would have a deal for existing subscribers. He said "next month" they would offer the mJ+ to existing owners for half price, $35. The offer would be on the advertising window of the soft phone and wouldn't last long.

He also said owners could have the same number with the old mJ, the new mJ+ and the free apps on apple devices. An owner of an iPod Touch will see the same display as of an iPhone, but make free calls when near a wi-fi router.

The mJ+ wi-fi adapter will be out, I think I recall, next year. I don't remember him saying a price.

Some of the callers in were using a mJ device, and they were broken a slight amount. Neither the show announcer nor Dan commented on that. The announcer just said how good they sounded, which they did except for the tiny breaks.

Just 48 hours, OK I was wrong.

This loyal customer since 2008 purchased two of the MJ PLUS devices guess I'm SOL when it comes to getting the discount.

Hope some of you who waited can take advantage of the sale.

Good Luck.

I'm not even sure about the 48 hours. I was gone for a few days, am not going to buy one regardless, and can only base the time-frame of the offer on these posts. But I've sat through 4 cycles of the ads on my soft-phone and all I can find different is a pretty new ad for the 5-year plan.

Maybe I wasn't loyal enough. Sorry Dan, I'll try harder before the next loyalty offer.
