Porting a landline number

Post by dlheim61036 »

I've had a Magic Jack for about a year and a half with its own number for long distance service and kept my landline service and number thru AT&T. I have ordered a magicjack plus and have a question about porting a landline number to it. Once you port your landline number to the MJ+, can you drop your landline service and continue to keep your landline number on the MJ+?

Pretty much the definition of porting.... Moving your number from service to another...

My porting went flawlessly. I wish MJ could make a few changes to their voice-mail notification procedures.

As soon as the port goes through, your original land line account will be closed. I would call to verify though.
