I think I'm out of luck here, but throught that I'd ask anyway. I sent an MJ+ to my mother-in-law in Russia. They have h/s internet but just have a single cable run into their flat, no switch and no router! I ordered them a 5-port switch and a EU style USB power adapter. I hooked everything up at my house (w/power adapters) and tested switch & MJ+. Everything worked great, so I packed and mailed. The problem that I never thought about is that my M-I-L must sign on to the internet , kind of like I have to when I stay in a hotel. They get a message to "check internet connection or try magicjack.com". They have a fast flashing green led on the MJ+, a solid yellow led, and of course a blue power led.
Anyone face this situation and have any thoughts? I think the answer is to just tell them to sell it at the local flea market and keep the $$$. BTW - They already have a regular MJ plugged into the USB port and that works fine, when the computer is on! (Note the old MJ was unplugged when we were trying this)

Basically, yes, we tried that. We logged into the internet account but still couldn't get a mj+ connection. After signing in, we disconnected the mj+, then reconnected. Thought it might pick up an IP address that way. It didn't. It's possible that my cheap-o switch isn't compatible with the router. And it's almost impossible to get any information wahtsoever about the ISP and their equipment.
