Google has actually posted the announcement on their google voice blog site now.

"As the holiday season approaches, we're happy to announce that we've extended free domestic calls within the US and Canada for 2012."

Not to be nit-picky (okay, maybe) with Google. The date on that post was today. As the holiday season "approaches"? Isn't the holiday "season" already here? I hope it's still not approaching, I'm about ready for it to be done. Maybe they are referring to the Valentines Day holiday season.

They still make no mention of expiration dates on the official GV support pages. :

Until they add a date to this page, I think Obi/GV users have nothing to worry about.

Actually OBi users have nothing to fear even if GV stopped completely. It may a cost a few bucks but there plenty of other providers out there.

That is the beauty of using a real unlocked ATA!!!!!!!
