Voice Breakup on Both Ends
I have the Magicjack Plus tied into a Linksys WRT-110 router. I get voice breakups on what seems like the caller end. It is really embarrasing, to have to ask the caller to repeat what he just said. Sometime the call just drops. Then I have to redial. My internet service is provided by WOW(Wideopenwest). 8 mbps. Who else is having this problem? And what is the solution?
Try the MJ+ directly connected to the modem via Ethernet bypassing the router, (Reboot modem and MJ+ then after a few mins. do a test call)
Connect your MJ+ to a PC or Mac and set it to 3g air card mode (top left of soft phone pad) shut down the computer then return the MJ+ device to stand alone mode operation.
Good Luck, you should also do a jitter test from your Internet connected PC or MAC, bad Internet can kill the joy on VoIP phone calls.

I'm having the same sort of issue. The voices fad in and out. While I had the mj+ on the computer I changed some priorities of services around and that didn't help. Tried the air card thing, that didn't help. Then I moved the mj to the router alone via ethernet and that seemed to help a bit-made the voices louder, but the fading in and out came back.
I don't have the option to hook the mj+ directly to my modem (cable 10mb)
Any other suggestions? The fading happens several times during a conversation. Thanks

I tried the air card setting and it fixed the problem completely, however when I moved the MJ+ back to stand alone the problems came back. It seems that the air card setting did not stay with the MJ+. Plugging the unit into the computer without air card still has problems, so it definitely seems that the air card setting is the fix. Is there any procedure for shutting down that I may not have followed that would make sure the air card setting "sticks" in the MJ+ when it is stand alone?
Also, what is a jitter test? I'd like to try running that too. I'm pretty sure I will find that the internet connection is lousy.
Thanks.
