WARNING VOIPMYWAY WILL SHUT YOU DOWN EARLY

Post by kevin8629 »

Let them know that I would not be renewing my service so they shut me down. I am paid up until 12/25/2011. Those not planning to renew...beware, you may be without a phone!

Kevin I am sorry they did that to you. As the previous owner of the company I still feel bad when I see my past customers miss treated. For those that are leaving voipmyway remember that voipo is the main company and we resell their service. You can always move your number to voipo on a month to month base while you decide what you want to do next. I hope this helps others.

I also hope they realize customer service is key to staying in business.

I am also a VoipMyWay customer when Mike ran it. The new owner has given me the unlimited residential for $5.50 per month with (I hope) the origional 1500 minutes. It seems that every month I have to renew on PayPal. When Mike had it, we only had to approve a subscription one time and did not have to do anything after that unless we had to modify our plan.

I doubt that voipo would honor the pricing of VoipMyWay if one was to bail out. Another provider to try is localphone.com. A local DID is $0.99 per month, Inbound minutes are free, outbound calls to toll free 800, 855, 866, 877 and 888 are free and outbound minutes are only $0.005 per minute. (that's 1/2 cent) The only thing is that 011 is not included, so one would have to get 911 from calcentric or voip.ms or program in the 911 backend number in their ATA.

But if you go to voipo for 2 years it is $6.21/mo and 5000 minutes.

I looked on voipo and didn't see anything about 5000 minutes. Besides, $149 is alot of dough to come up with at one time. We are moving to Arizona in about 9 months. e don't use hardly any outbound minutes as I have VoipMyWay on a OBi100 with most of the inbound callers using a GV trunk. Does Voipo have a month to month plan?

http://www.voipo.com/tos.php
All residential and small business VoIP plans are designed for customers with average usage of under 5,000 minutes per month. Accounts exceeding 5,000 minutes per month on a regular basis are not eligible for these plans. If an account exceeds 5,000 minutes in a calendar month, VOIPo may bill for the excess minutes above 5,000 at 1.9 cents per minute. VOIPo shall have sole discretion to determine whether usage is consistent with average usage or not.
Current cost:
by the month cost is $15/mo
by the year $99 or $8.25/mo
two year $149 = $6.21/mo
