MJ+ Earpiece Volume Level Setting
My MJ+ works well, but the volume level of incomming calls is very low. I have tried connecting the MJ+ to my computer and running the MJ Software and raising the earpiece volume level. It seems that the setting does not stick when I remove the MJ+ from the computer and plug it back into the network. Any insight would be appreciated!

I have the same frikin problem using magic jack plus. Just got it and ported my number no more than 2 weeks ago. Volume on cell phone connected to call is fine, but volume on my home phone is so damn low sometimes i cant even hear the people. I def know its not the phone line or phone itself as i had optimum voice just before this and it was crystal clear and loud. This needs to be fixed, phone is essentially unusable at times. And i cant raise the phone volume setting any more as it is on max.

Sheri: Hello, how may I help you?
Yuriy: hi
Yuriy: i just bought magic jack plus
Yuriy: got my # ported no more than a week ago
Yuriy: and outgoing and incoming call are working
Yuriy: but the sound volume is extremely low
Yuriy: on my home phone it is very low
Yuriy: on the cell phone that would be talking to me for example itis fine
Yuriy: i already increased my home phone volume setting to max but it is still very low
Yuriy: sometimes i cant even hear
Sheri: Please wait while I check that for you
Yuriy: my number is **********
Sheri: I'm sorry for the delay. I'll be right with you.
Yuriy: ok
Sheri: Thank you for patiently waiting.
Sheri: Where did you currently connect your magicJack PLUS?
Yuriy: it is currently connected to usb power adapter and that is connected to the outlet
Yuriy: my phone line it plugged in
Sheri:
Kindly double check your setting
1. Plug the magicJack Plus into the power adapter that has been provided
2. Plug the Ethernet cord that has been provided into the magicJack Plus
3. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cord into your modem our router
4. Plug a telephone into your magicJack Plus
5. Plug the power adapter into a power outlet
You are now ready to make and receive calls
Yuriy: and ethernet cable is plugged in
Yuriy: i also recently tried connecting it manually thru usb to computer for power
Yuriy: and it is just as low
Yuriy: i noticed all the volume settings in magic jack app menu
Yuriy: and everythign is already maxed out
Yuriy: also volume setting for magic jack adapter device as a sound device is also maxed out
Yuriy: via computer made no difference
Yuriy: i have it hooked up back to outlet right now
Yuriy: i have notice other users complaining of this issue and it sometimes makes the phone/call unusable
Sheri: The volume depends on your phone if it has an option to turn up the volume.
Yuriy: the volume is already maxed out
Yuriy: on my phone
Yuriy: and its is much lower with magic plus then when i had optimum voice
Yuriy: when i had optimum voice phone line went to internet cable modem and the phone was on max volume setting and volume for calls was crystal clear and fine
Yuriy: now same setup, same phone, same line, only magic jack plus this time as provider i get much lower volume
Sheri: I will be right with you.
Sheri: Are you using a router?
Yuriy: obviously
Yuriy: i doubt people have a dedicated data jack at home which runs ethernet to their magic jack +
Yuriy: but yeh i do have a router where ethernet cord connected to mj+
Sheri: May I have your router's brand name and model number?
Yuriy: yeh
Yuriy: belkin wireless g router
Yuriy: f5d7234-4 v5
Sheri: Please wait while I check that for you
Sheri: Thank you for patiently waiting.
Sheri: Have you tried using a different phone?
Yuriy: i dont have any other phone
Yuriy: but like i told u i had optimum voice at the same time at mj+ during the number port
Yuriy: and optimum voice was giving me normal volume on max setting
Yuriy: but when i connect to mj+ the next minute it was much lower
Yuriy: so it all points to the problem of mj+
Sheri: Please open the link below. You can right click on it then select "Open New Window", or left click on it directly. Here is the link:

Sheri: Then do the steps with your router. When you're done with it, then you need to restart your router to take effect the changes. It might disconnect our chat, however you can chat us back and ask for me or any supervisors available to assist you. All chat sessions are saved and will be used for future references, so no need to explain all over again. We are here ready to assist you 24/7.
Yuriy: yeh i forwarded the ports as well
Yuriy: thats actually the first thing i did when i set up mj+
Sheri: Alright.
Sheri: It would be better to try another phone device to see the difference.
Yuriy: if i had one
Yuriy: i would
Yuriy: do u have a list of phone u officially support and dont support?
Yuriy: it would make it easier for me to see which replacement to seek out to see if it helps
Sheri: Unfortunately, there's no specific kind of phone but you can try any phone that you have to see the difference
Yuriy: ill have to buy one
Yuriy: ok thx

I was having same problems.......low volume....static......problem solved.
Just bought the Panasonic KX-TG4132 from Best Buy on sale for $55. No more static and much improved volume. It could be a little louder but if you need really loud look into the hearing impaired cordless phones. They are about $25 more but you can crank the volume. I had a crappy GE digital phone. I think that was for sure the problem. Don't spend under $50 if you want a decent phone.
