Are there any lomg time MJ users?
I received my MJ+ this week. It semi worked plugged into a computer. As a stand alone it was constant 3002. After reading all the fixes available on the web site I tried support. After 2 days, 10+ hours and 4 remote sessions with upper support people when I rebooted my network I had no wireless capability. On my own, two days later of trial & error and updated firmware in the router, my network is fine and MJ works like it should. I'm convinced support is not the world's best and my computer skills are absolute trial & error.
All that verbiage to finally ask if anyone has had several years of trouble free service using MJ.
Thank you in advance for any input.

If you ever think you're having a bad day, stop & think somewhere out there is a Mr Nancy Pelosi.
There have been problems which usually lasted from a few hours to a couple of days. However, when several months ago I suddenly got problems lasting 2 weeks when i practically could not call out because people could barely hear me my preferences shifted to Google voice/ Obihai.
BTW every VOIP is only as good as your ISP.

2 years + here as well with great performance once everything's setup properly...as said, MJ is only as good as your ISP AND your Router...using Linksys WRT54G/GS/GL with Tomato 1.28 firmware and QOS settings set for MJ with 99.9% efficiency. Haven't tried the MJ+ yet though. But you're right about support...as found here MANY times in posts, it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! If it wasn't for this site, I think many new MJ users would just give up in the beginning and get a refund.

I'm a MJ user since 2008 and for the most part it has been flawless for me and saved a ton of money. I have recently upgraded from MJ to the MJ+ and I swear my phone calls are as good as a landline, making and receiving calls. I think for most people that may have issues are either their ISP or a router problem. Goodluck

I've had mine for a couple of years. I use it when I'm in the USA about 5 - 6 months out of the year. It's been working fine for the last 3 years.KenBolen wrote:All that verbiage to finally ask if anyone has had several years of trouble free service using MJ.

I've had mine about five years. When I first tried to use it, it was so gawdawful that I put it on a shelf and thought about smacking it with a hammer.
A few weeks later, I tried it again. They called me lucky and installed some new firmware. It worked good enough that I would use it, but the other party would break up sometimes and I had to ask them to repeat something.
As time went on, the calls improved and became virtually the same as the landline. I was using DSL at a slow speed due to my distance from the phone company switching office.
Now I'm on the cable with much faster Internet, so even moderate computer use doesn't bother the connection. I have two mJ+ on my router along with a Linksys ATA carrying two other VoIP accounts. They all work fine with two computers, but only the three mJs happen to let me make free calls longer than 20 minutes.

I've had mine for 4 years and its worked pretty well most of the time. It installed easily and the only continuing problem I've had is echo on calls within the magicJack's home area code. I had to block several proxy servers in my router to ensure that magicJack uses a less utilized proxy and then the call quality increases immensely and there is no echo.
