Hi folks! Have a couple of questions about porting old landline number to newly obtained MJ+.
(1) Store clerk claimed that if I sign up for porting of existing number during activation steps, there will be no charge for porting the number, but if I do this later, I will be charged a fee. Is there any truth to this? Has anyone signed up for porting old number during the activation and got the porting for free?
(2) In a recent thread I saw someone indicating ~$10 *yearly* charge after porting old number. Has anyone confirmed if this is true?
Thank you!

As I told someone else, number porting hasnt been around for a year yet to see one way or another if there is a yearly charge. Ask 5 different MJ support people and you get 5 different answers.
I believe the clerk was incorrect as there is a ( as far as I know ) a $20 charge to port your number regardless if you do it right a way or a week later. TO BE SAFE, best to wait till you are sure the Plus is working for you the way you want. PITA to get your number back if it is not..

there is a $20 charge when you set the port up during registration. A vanity number has a $10 a year charge. Mj made no mention of a yearly charge after porting. I would hope they wouldn't do that considering it costs them nothing after the port is complete(you never know though). Like Joe said(in his infinite wisdom of course), porting hasn't been around for a year yet so we'll have to wait and see.
Getting it back would be the same process. Call your original provider and request a new service with a number port. They may need some specific info from Mj(unlike mj, who needed nothing) to make it happen. Mj will try to charge you $30 to release the number. Don't pay it. They can't legally charge you to port out. It's been done. There's info here on the forum.
YES!!!!!!!!! I beat you to the punch Joe. I've never typed so fast in my life!!
