CID time settings

Post by redlifeusa »

I have purchased a new phone ( GE 30522EE5-A) and the time displayed on the LCD seems to be in synch with EST (New York time zone) instead of PST (Los Angeles time zone, where I am). I set the correct local time (and area code) on the phone but when I receive the first call the time gets changed . As soon as I receive a call, the time on the phone changes to 3 hours ahead of my local time- and stays this way.
I have contacted the phone manufacturer and they suspect this is caused by the caller ID time settings, controlled by phone service provider (Magic Jack). I am using MJ+. I've contacted MJ support but they say everything looks good on their side... I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem.
Anyone having this problem or having any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I was told by MJ support that the default Time Zone for all MJ plus devices is EST.

They are working on a major update for the PLUS unit.

CID time zone

Post by redlifeusa »

This makes sense. However, when I spoke (chat) with support , I was told the time is based on the area code. I don't think that's true because I have a west coast area code for my MJ number and still my CID time is for EST.
Thanks for the info!

Caller ID - Time Setting

I have the same problem. Everytime I get a call, the phone resets to Eastern time.

I have and use a Panasonic Cordless phone system (KX-TG6511). When I first used it with the MJ+ I had problems with it setting to the right time. This phone has an option Time Adjustment to set it from default - automatic to manual. When I set it to manual my time stays current with no problems and I am on west coast time also.

I could agree with you Matt9876. They told me that since their main office is located in FL and has the EST time zone, it's the default settings of the CID. Their engineers are currenly on-update to modify this thing in the future.

Mine seems to be running 3 hours in the future. Kinda handy because when I dial the lotto line it gives me the winning ticket numbers before the draw.
