MJ does not accept dialed digits from desk phone

Post by Radni »

MJ was working fine for last 2-3 years, but suddenly it does not recognize dialed digits from desk phone and also I find very low volume of dial tone and voice on incoming calls.
I still get ring on my desk phone for incoming calls.
I can dial from MJ keypad on computer and make outgoing calls. But I cannot make out going calls from my desk phone.
I have Windows XP on my computer.
Please help to solve this problem for making outgoing calls from my desk phone.
Thanks

I would start checking all phone wire connections, try connecting that one phone directly to the MJ also try this with a new or different phone.

In another thread low volume was fixed with a new Panasonic phone, I personally have had good luck with V-tech phones.

If all else fails exchange your MJ for a new one via type chat support.

I use v tech phone which has no problem , I used another phone also but no improvement. I took MJ to my office ( from where I sometime use MJ) so as to try on different computer and different phone, but found same result. Then had windows 7 installed on my office computer , but still same result.
Pl tell me how to exchange MJ via type chat support . Can you give me link ? Thanks

I had this exact problem with a unit that had worked fine for a couple of years. I was convinced that the problem was with my phone.... until I bought another MJ, hooked it up to the same computer and phone, and it worked properly.

I can't tell you what the exact problem is, but I can tell you that it is more than likely a problem with the MJ itself.

A replacement is probably the only solution.

A replacement is really not always the solution actually. You need to check and consider your speed as well. Your system configuration and if you're properly toggled to Telephone option while using a phone. It's best to visit tech chat to make sure. You may use this link: www.magicJack.com/techchat
