You cannot run MJ natively on Linux. You might be able to run it using Wine but it is very difficult. Or you could run a virtual Windows session and run MJ from there. But, even the best with computers (and Linux) struggle to get MJ running on Linux.

After re-reading the title of your post, I see you are talking about MJ+. Why would you even want to use a computer?

You need a PC to register the MJ+ the first time. I just got one and the newest version of windows I have is 2000. It won't work under that, either. Best as I can tell, you can't use it without a PC until you have registered it.

Have you checked the other posts on this board since? See the list on page http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/usin ... x-f15.html .

One of the posters provided access to his PDF describing how to use the MJ dongle under Linux Mint (Ubuntu based) see: http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/magi ... 12087.html .

There were a couple of other posts where a technique was worked out. A google search will also show how to do it using G-mail and Google Video. I haven't tried any of the techniques yet, since I just read them myself. But they are on my to-do list as I still have the "dongle", but canceled my MJ account a couple of years ago after 3 ears of frustration with dropped calls, chopped up voice and other assorted problems.

8) I use a Vbox it works somehow.

I'd be more glad if mJ fully supports Linux OS

Magic Jack and Linux

Connect your MJ+ device to a power source and use the cat5 cable to connect it with your router. No software needed. Next you need to access your router. Typically type 192.168.1.1 into your browser address bar. You will be prompted for user name and password. Type those in and then go to the DHCP link, should be a tab or a link depending on the router. Once in the DHCP page find the link for DHCP Client Table. Usually in advanced settings. Once you have the route table available take note of the one device that you do not recognize, the MAC address will start with 6C: take note of the IP address. Now return to the DHCP page and advanced settings, find the tab or link that takes you to the DMZ Host settings. The first part of the IP should be 192.168.1.--- the last three numbers should be the the last three numbers of the IP you noted from the Route Table. This will continue to change unless you move to a switch, most consumer routers will not let you set aa static IP to one device while still being in DHCP mode.
