I have exactly the same issue. My disabled neighbor bought one and attempted to install, and did not write down the password, and may have made a mistake in entering the email address. I am hoping to get it working for her.

This is from the MJ site:
To uninstall your magicJack, please go to control panel and remove it from the list of currently installed programs.

Windows XP

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In the Currently installed programs box, click magicJack, and then click Remove.
If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.

Windows Vista/Windows 7

Click Start, click Control Panel, click Programs, and click Programs and Features.
In the Currently installed programs box, select magicJack, and then click Uninstall.
If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.

To reinstall your magicJack, simply plug it back in and it will automatically reinstall.
MagicJack user since 2008.

"vehlajatt" - As far as I know, once a MJ device is disassociated from its original MJ account it can no longer be used by creating another MJ account for it. Thus, in all probability you will need to purchase a new MJ device.

"wisconsinatra" - You can *try* asking your neighbor to start a MJ live "help chat" and see if they can reset her password etc. But she'll have to prove his/her identity to them, and it's not guaranteed that they'll be able to do it. This is a security measure to ensure that stolen MJ devices can NOT be reused by others, and to help ensure that only the legitimate owners of the device and its associated MJ account can use/access it.
