can i use my keypad on my phone to dial? if so it is not working. Also I was never asked to register when installing the sw on my mac so maybe that is the problem.
Note - the magicjack I bought from Walmart as new shrinkwrapped product was in fact used - it has the personal info and contacts of, I presume, the previous owner. So maybe they returned it because it was defective, and Walmart decided to sell it again. I have emailed Walmart.

Re: dialing outbound
- That sounds VERY plausible. You should return it to Walmart & get your money back ASAP.dco wrote:can i use my keypad on my phone to dial? if so it is not working. Also I was never asked to register when installing the sw on my mac so maybe that is the problem.

Hi dco,
I had a problem somewhat similiar to yours.
My MJ+ is connected into a USB port in my computer and I use a telephone vs the MJ+ softphone.
I found that only some of the numbers I was dialing on the telephone keypad were being picked up, and I couldn't place a call. I could see this happening on the MJ interface on my computer as I dialed - some numbers appearing as I pressed the keypad, while others not.
The fix was reducing the mic level on the telephone to below 80%.
From the MJ+ interface, click Menu, then Volume/Headset Control, make sure 'Telephone' is selected, and move the 'Microphone' slider so it is 20% or more to the left of the right end of the control.
eg. looking like this .......................O....... not anywhere here ....................OOOO
I read somewhere in this forum (sorry I don't know who posted so I can give credit - if anyone knows please send me a message and I'll edit this post):
"MJ uses a level trigger for digitizing voice and if any thing falls below the trigger it doesn't get converted... Bah!"
This level trigger may be the cause of your problem.
Hope this helps.
