Majic Jack - No sound on my end???????
I've tried all the worthless suggestions at the Majic jack website; unplug modem, unplug Majic Jack, unplug phones, tried different phones.....nothing works.
Folks on the other end can hear me, but I can't hear them.
Please help.
Thanks.

I had the Same Problem
I worked with the chat line day after day. After you do everything they suggest they escalate until they call engineering. They refused to provide a solution date. I was lucky - it took about a week.

Fixed my "no earpiece" sound issue
Before messing around with router ports (I never had to mess with them Ever with Magic Jack) try checking this.
Right click the Volume icon in the system tray (by clock), then left click the Open Volume Mixer item. In the upper left corner should be a menu button labeled Device, left click it.
Look for an item labeled Handset (USB Internet Phone by TigerJet). Left click it. Now you should have two volume sliders: Device and Applications. Look at the volume icon at the bottom of each...is there a red circle with a slash on the button?...click to clear both buttons to normal. Clicking one button may change both together.
Right after doing this my earpiece volume was restored!!
Happy chatting
PS This is only one of numerous issues that could be wrong. By the way, when we used our webcam audio option instead of the handset option we could hear callers through our speakers even while the earpiece did not work.

What you think of me is none of my business.
incoming caller can't be heard
I have used the original MJ since it came out. Now since the plus came out this problem has begun. I did not buy the Plus version of MJI have changed nothing. As soon as I answer and the caller can't be heard, I tell the caller to hang up and I call them back. they can then hear me. Thankfully mj has caller id. Has this problem just begun for you, do you still use the original mj? I seriously think this is an issue created to make us change over to the new plus, What do you all think?
Also this happens on incoming calls from an IPhone????
Thanks

Re: incoming caller can't be heard
"Standard" MJs should still work perfectly fine; mine does. The problem you describe can be caused by any one of a number of issues. First, be sure to have your MJ plugged DIRECTLY into your pc's USB port - do not use a hub. Run complete virus scans on the pc that you use it with; get rid of anything it finds. Make sure that you have no more than ONE firewall program installed and operational on your pc and that the one firewall that's installed on your pc is set correctly, then turn that firewall OFF (temporarily) and ask someone to call you... if the problem's gone, it was caused by the firewall. Try plugging your pc directly into your MODEM via Ethernet (NOT your router), then ask someone to call you... if problem's gone, it was *probably* caused by something within your router and/or its settings. If these little tests don't help you to begin isolating the source of the problem, the issue causing it can be a) your MJ device has started to go bad; or b) the server that your MJ connects to has started acting up.marcia85 wrote:I have used the original MJ since it came out.
