Also, it went about a week with no 911 capabilities. It just said "Not connected, no 911 available." for about 3 days, then that part of the screen was black for about 2 weeks. Tried restarting the computer, but still no go. Normal calling still works.
Then, coincidentally, the same day that 911 mysteriously started working again, the cops showed up at a neighbors house in a big hurry about something. The neighbors showed up later, accusing us of calling the police on them. I was baffled. We didn't call the police for anything, or anybody. I couldn't even see any reason they would have showed up.
Now, through all of this, I can still make and receive calls. It only loads my calls & contacts when it wants to, and my.magicjack.com doesn't even load most of the time. It says it's timed out, and won't load the page, no matter how many times I try to go there.
I'm just trying to go there and shut off the 911 capability, since it doesn't work right anyway. I figure that if I need 911, I'm probably going to be calling it on my cell. Today, 911 decided to stop working again, going back to the "not connected" message.
I tried reloading the MJ software, disconnecting and reconnecting the dongle, and restarting the computer. All the appropriate updates are installed, and the firewall is configured properly. I have no clue why it's not working right, because it went over a year working just fine.
Any advice?
