Two MagicJacks behind one router

Post by TheGreyFalcon »

I have an original magicjack and purchased a magicjack plus to have a separate line that I can travel with. Is it possible to have two magicjacks sitting behind a single router - one attached directly to the router (the Plus) and one plugged into my computer?

The reason I ask is that I saw a technical note I read about doing port forwarding to improve call quality. I think if I do forward the ports on the router to the MagicJack Plus which is attached directly to the router, it will stop the MagicJack original which is attached to a USB port from working.

True? Or am I just being paranoid?

Yoiu can have more than one MJ device operating via the same router, and messing with port forwarding or port triggering should not be necessary.
