mj 2014 gets very hot plugged into wall and router

Post by randyz48 »

my mj2014 gets very hot while plugged into the wall and te router. it seems the power adapter gets very hot then heats up the mj2014. i tried it plugged into a power strip first then read that you should plug it into the wall so i did and it made no difference. i have not owned this device a whole week yet and i am afraid it will break down from the heat then i will be lrft eith this device and a extra year of service. they need to either put vent holes into the mj2014 to help with the cooling or do something with the power adapter since this is what gets hotter between the two. maybe the power supply may be defective thus causing the excessive heat. is there a way to get the power adapter replaced before my mj2014 gets damaged from the excessive heat? if someone knows how please let me know. randolph.

Why not add the 6-inch USB extender between the power wart and the mJ+? Putting some distance between the device and the power supply may make the difference that will help cool down your device.

I'm not sure I would plug the power supply directly into the wall. It seems a little foolhardy not to have an electrical device you depend on behind a surge protector, strip even if you have whole-house surge protection.
