Is this the texting feature MJP app has promised (picture)?

On my MJP app I noticed that it has a messaging feature. Is this the texting feature MJP app has promised? I cannot text other phone numbers. I can only receive messages from MJP.

3 months later, success in texting. Now I can send and receive texts. Not sure why 3 months ago I could only receive texts but I'm a happy camper now with the texting feature. BTW, I'm not paying anything extra. I'm using the free iOS app (not the upgraded version). Don't pay for the upgrade when it prompts you to buy it.
