My service is 0.01 to the US and Canada. International rates are on my site.
We also offer toll free numbers and free sip to sip calls.

FYI, Localphone raised their rates just a few weeks after in August 09 from 0.007 to 0.009 for US/Canada calls. Still the cheapest of the bunch

I'm happy with voip.ms and have recently dumped the land line and have gone 100% voip. As of April 2011, calls to US numbers $0.0105 and to Canada $0.0052. My phone bill is 1/10 what it was with the land line.

Best is to try out the best contenders, likely you don't have to sign up for more than a month so you're only out a few bucks to test call quality and reliability. Some allow you to sign-up for free and explore all the call management features.

New update to low cost call services

Post by geohump »

Note on Units - prices are typically given in dollars, (USD) where $1.25 is 1 dollar and 25 cents. When a price is specified to be in cents, then 1.25 is 1 cent and 25 hundredths of a cent. Prices below are "cents" except where you see a "$" before the price.

US # to US #

localphone.com 0.5 cents per min.
callwithus.com 0.99 cents per minute
future-nine.com 1.0 cents per min.
voxox.com 1.0 cents per min. Or $2.45/month unlimited US & Can.
voip.ms 1.05 cents/min

VoIP stands for "Voice Over Internet Protocol", which is a technology that allows you to make phone calls using Broadband Internet connection instead of your regular phone service. I should recommend callwithus.com 0.0099 cents per min, which is lowcost

They are great for business users but quite pricey for a home phone. Their web site breaths the corporate charm.

Sorry how do you see them as pricey for home users? I use the deal above at home.

$3.99 with one DID, CID, e911, two simultaneous calls, and all you can eat incoming?

Porting does cost $18 but is a one time charge.

1.4 cents per minute for outgoing only; of coarse you can use any other provider for outgoing if you choose to save money on the outgoing rate if that is what you mean.

EDIT: I misspoke e911 service is not included in the $3.99 price but is $1.49 extra.

Actually, the special is a good deal, I referred to the prices as I understand them from their web site.
The outgoing calls are way too expensive indeed and also their international calls to foreign cell phones are way out.
But the special is really good.
The 8.4% VOIP USF surcharge on all prices is also not to be forgotten.

I have not used the services of any one of the above mentioned providers. But I am using VoIP services of The Real PBX. I found their outgoing VoIP services quite inexpensive. You can check out their pricing page on their website: http://www.therealpbx.com/pricing.html

While their service might be interesting for larger offices I cannot discover any usefulness for home/ small business.
