No sound on MJ to MJ calls
After running MJ for over a year on Maxterm thin client (512 RAM and 4g HD) there's no sound when calling or receiving a call from another MJ phone #. There's no sound on the other end as well. Call connects, I hear something for about 2sec , then sound is gone, but call is still connected.
All other calls work fine. Same MJ on a normal PC works just fine.
I think it started with latest MJ client software update.
Any ideas? What's so special about MJ to MJ calls?
Thanks

MJ to MJ calls come through MJ's servers only, not through any other phone company's (Qwest, BellSouth, etc.). They're usually having server problems in various parts of the country, which might be your problem for the moment. It could very well clear up overnight, or within a few days. Just a thought anyway. Might be worth calling MJ support to see if they know about the problem.
Another thought, you might have to remove your MJ software, reinstall it and d/l the update to see if that clears it up (the update will probably auto-download after reinstallation).

Wish I had SC. Not considered basic cable here. So I settle for Discovery, and History channel. PLUS, of course, Sci-Fi channel, and no I will not spell it the way they now do.. UGH. dumbing down of America indeed!tsmith wrote:![]()

That's what I get for watching the Science Channel at the same time Joe.
Have fun...

MJ support was no help as usual.
I think I found what the problem may be. When I watch CPU usage, it goes to 100% on Mj-MJ calls, but stays at around 50% for normal calls. I gave MJ process real-time priority and I started to hear, but sound is very choppy.
Looks to me like new MJ soft is consuming more CPU than before and my thin client can't handle it.
I wish I could "downgrade" MJ software to 2.0.3 version. It wasn't as hungry. Anyone know how to do that? MJ support said it was not possible.

In MJ land it is possible but trust me the online reps would not know how. Sorry to say it but the easy way out is to get a bigger Thin Client with 4x the mem and speed that you have now. IF you know debugging and still have the 2.03 upgrade you can make it appear to the MJ sever as it is the newest upgrade. And thats not 100% because even if you know how it's only going to fail 100% on the next update. Only way i see around it is replace the Thin Client with a alot faster one and more mem, Oh you can down grade BUT it not going to stay that way for long so it would almost be like your replacing the upgraded software alot, In this case your answer at this time is the Thin Client your using had it unless you replace it or can upgrade it to the standards that it needs now.

I have a similar package as you Joe. The Sci Channel is a Preview, so it'll be gone in a couple of weeks.bitstopjoe wrote:Wish I had SC. Not considered basic cable here. Getting back on topic (for a second), MJ will find a way to upgrade you, whether you want to or not.

512 MB of memory should be more than enough and I didn't see any where in this thread where your processor speed was listed so I have no idea why the recommendation was made that you needed a faster one. But, use Task Manager in Windows to check out processor and memory usage. That will tell you which one you might need to address.gashliquor wrote:get a bigger Thin Client with 4x the mem and speed that you have now.

I would use 1.2 GHZ or better on the CPU, I think you maybe running 1.0 or lower CPU. Im just telling you. Knock yourself out. If your CPU is 1.0 ghz or lower it won't work. As far as MJ software is concerned i can do anything i want with there Upgrade.exe. But i can't get into that. If they were a non U.S. based company i'd give it to you already done. Like i gave a few members shit private already. But i don't mess with MJ or firmware/ Software U.S. based as i don't want to hear BS from there companies. Outside of U.S. well thats another story. Im just telling you up your mem and CPU and your problems will disappear, What others think or say does'nt even concern me. If you get it perfected with what your running now since the upgrades by all means tell me. Now unless the servers are having a problem which can happen and you happen to be on those servers there is nothing you can do until they clear it up which can be right away or days. Other then that wait it out and see if it's a server problem. IMO i doub't it's a server problem. Or im sure you can reconfigure and use different servers as they all can't be having troubles.
