Are you talking about the post "upgrade" that MJ was doing in March? if so, yes, I notice more background noise during a call, but this noise level is still within "comfort noise" zone, not distracted during a call.
I suspect that during the last "upgrade" MJ activated VAD (voice activity detection), a method to encode/decode audio only when speech is heard (to reduce bandwidth usage). The downside of VAD is that during the quiet passage, the played back audio level is too quiet (silent) thus the need to inject "comfort noise" to let listeners know that the call is still "active".
All the PSTN & cell carriers are using VAD & injecting "comfort noise" to all their calls.

During the call there is echo, distortion(jitter) I dont know since one the magicjack call quality is finished.Thats why everyone is complaining about not getting better sound call quality.I think Level3 is out of business or Dan finished the business with them.In this way he is going to loose a lot of business.LikeMagic wrote:Are you talking about the post "upgrade" that MJ was doing in March? if so, yes, I notice more background noise during a call, but this noise level is still within "comfort noise" zone, not distracted during a call.
