I really can't see the point of this product, when so many cheaper VOIP services, like MJ, are already available, and users don't have to worry about sharing minutes with their cell phone.

Personally, and with a the bias of ownership, I think the NetTalk App will be a virtually ideal solution, once they let you tie your Duo number to it for incoming calls.

I'll have the Duo at home, but be making/receiving free VOIP calls that won't touch my cell minutes (particularly when used over WiFi).

I love the idea of none of it being VOIP (unlike MJ or NT), being with a large company with a proven track record (unlike NetTalk) and decent customer service (unlike MagicJack).

But paying $10 extra a month to share minutes is nuts. Just use your cell phone ALL the time. I don't get it.

My own experience with Verizon and their cu$tomer "service" is such that MJ does not look that bad to me after all, but that's off topic.
I may consider "shared minutes" on a truly reliable land line but not on a pseudo land line going through wireless network. It is not worth a penny to me. Reminds me T mobile's" @ home" which quietly disappeared. Plus, is it 10 bucks straight or 10 bucks plus 15 bucks surcharges and taxes ?

I dropped Verizon land line back in July after using MJ for 8 months. Still waiting for $50 refund now in December. And that was before I got the DUO in September.

And 'customer service'? That's a knee-slapper! Assuming you can reach the proper 'service' after playing telephone roulette.

Never have missed the sorry land line with more static that MJ ever put out.

Keep a wide-eye on Verizon. They'll think of several ways to dugger you from cancelation fees to added fees you never heard of.

MJ + DUO + 2 TracFone's (no contracts) is about as good as it gets for non-business use.
