Can't access Voicemail from MagicJack

Post by Pathfinder »

I can't seem to access my VoiceMail from the MagicJack. I can only get to VoiceMail by disconnecting MJ and then dialing from my home phone.
And if I call into voicemail and it doesn't pick up I still get a blank message. It seems that I connect but I don't hear anything.
Again I tried calling from my home phone with MJ running. It rang 3 times then went to dead air. I tried hitting * to see if I could access the VM menu but no luck.

there have been problems with voicemail for everyone at one time or another. Eventually it gets fixed.

Sometimes, also, if you hang out during that "dead air" phase, it'll eventually start working. Like I've waited through over 30 seconds of dead air, and then got the regular voicemail prompts, like I was supposed to.

(Yes, I know I have too much time on my hands...) :o

That may well be it. Today I called to check for messages. It took a full 20 seconds of dead air from the time the line picked up until the voice mail message started. This is totally bogus. Most people would have hung up in that time.

Yes, you're right. It's not the way it SHOULD be... Perhaps someone should email Dan about it. Seems to be an ongoing problem for a few people.
